Function word is the main means of expressing meaning, and the preposition teaching has always been an important and difficult in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. This paper selected three prepositions "to","for" and "on", there are differences between on the meaning and usage, and contact. The use of the three prepositions high frequency, and students often occurs when using the preposition errors.This article first from the Angle of semantic type "to","for" and "about" sorted out their semantic features, and then introduces the differences between them. Then to school of Yunnan university students English-speaking foreign students as investigation object, and study them in the daily study and exam of errors, the errors are divided into four categories:mix, wrong order, omissions, and by mistake. To analyze the errors, generalization, negative transfer of mother tongue and target language deficiency of compiling textbooks and teaching guidance is a major cause of lead to errors. The final teaching advice is, around the causes of errors, the Sino-British comparison method was proposed to assess the teaching, pay attention to the old and new knowledge linked and prepositions in phases teaching, strengthen the research on bias exchange, teachers play the main body status.
