| Differences in age, geography, material, traditional culture, esthetic concepts make Gu Kaizhi’s and Schiller’s lines show a different style characteristics. Gu’s is gentle, while Schiller’s is tough. The differences in their style make the two not comparable. One of the two is no more powerful than the other. They are just the typical representatives of East-West aesthetic system. It is undeniable that the two lines are used to express their feelings. They regard lines as a carrier of their inner feelings, manifested in different ways. Both of them are my favorite artists. When I appreciate their works, I am also learning the characteristics of their respective lines.
