Witold Lutoslawski(1913.1-1994.2)is a famous modern composer in Poland. Due to his meticulous music structure control and high attainments in composing techniques, he became one of the most influential music composer in twentieth Century. Witold Lutoslawski cleverly integrates the many factors in modern composition techniques in twentieth Century with traditional composing techniques and Poland folk music elements, derived and developed into unique composition techniques. He has formed his unique music language and creation style. His works play an important role in the music of twentieth Century and has attracted more and more attention from the performers and composers.Concerto for orchestra is an early tonal music work in Witold Lutoslawski’s creation which takes Poland folk music as material. It not only established the composer’s status in the Poland music industry, but also became an important symbol of the composer’s style transformation. This paper takes the writing technique in this work as research object, analyzes the various forms showed in composer’s style transformation of this work. It also analyzes the influence of the style of transformation with composer’s composing techniques in middle and late period.This paper is divided into four parts: the first part briefly describes the composer’s life, creation style of different periods and creation background of concerto for orchestra, it also explains the multiple effects of Bartok’s concerto for orchestra on Witold Lutoslawski’s concerto for orchestra. The second part describes the layout of each movement and main creation characteristics. The third part and the fourth part analyzes the polytonal counterpoint and multi layer fabric generated from the multi level method in Witold Lutoslawski’s concerto for orchestra. It also analyzes and describes the multi layer fabric effect on the composer’s composing techniques in middle and late period.
