The Ming Wu Interpretation is an important part of the traditional exegetical study. There are there major schools of Interpretation of the Songs in the Song dynasty. The Ming Wu Interpretation is one of them.The representative work of it is Caibian’Mao Shi Ming Wu Jie. In the song dynasty, the Interpretation of songs is against multifarious and advocates simpleness. It pays its attention to Sutra beliefs and creates the academic atmosphere. Then the new study about Confucian classics begins. But the Interpretation of songs pays its attentions on Sutra beliefs and ignores Textual research. Caibian and a few others people inherit the good tradition, which devoting themselves to the Ming Wu Interpretation of the songs. The Interpretation of the songs appears a completely-new situation. Caibian’Mao Shi Ming Wu Jie is greatly influenced by Wanganshi’s Zi Shuo. Many people dislike him because of his evil character. Besides, his brother Caijing is a treacherous court official. So people give his book a low evaluation. But Caibian inherit and carry forward of Wanganshi’s theory. He collects a lot of material from many books and raises many constructive suggestions. He and his Mao Shi Ming Wu Jie should be a certain status in the Interpretation of the songs.This thesis is divided into five parts:The introduction includes there aspects:Firstly, makes a brief introduction of Caibian’s life and the fundamental state of Mao Shi Ming Wu Jie. Secondly, defines the Ming Wu; briefly discusses the history of the Ming Wu interpretation of the songs in Song dynasty; give an overview of the research findings and version of the book.Finally, explains the the thesis selected topic reason and research methods.Chapter one is " The style and methods of Ming Wu interpretation in Mao Shi Ming Wu Jie ". Firstly, makes a brief introduction of the arrange and explain style. Then introduces the methods, which includes four major ways. The first method is" List different names". The second method is "hook heavy ancient books to explain names". Then the two methods are " righteousness to explain names" and " identify the voice and glyph", which could be present the features of Caibian’s Ming Wu’s Interpretation.Chapter two is" The terms and features of Interpretation in Mao Shi Ming Wu Jie". The terms of Interpretation from two aspects:The traditional terms and The terms from Caibian. The features of Interpretation includes three parts:" The five elements of Yin and Yang", "Every Ming Wu word has metaphoric meaning","Ming Wu semantic filed".Chapter three is" The relationship between Name and Reality". First of all, briefly introduces the concept of name and reality of ancient sages, among which focuses on Caibian’s views by compare with Er Ya and Pi Ya. Secondly, discusses there phenomenons:different names, nicknames, names’ancient and present evolution.then states the reasons. Finally, states the named reasons.Chapter four is" The value and insufficient of the interpretation in Mao Shi Ming Wu Jie ’The value part is mainly manifested in Exegetics, Meibutsu and culture, which showing the life of Song dynasty. In the annotations of the insufficient part, mainly from" Classification is not scientific "," Meaning is not rigorous"and"Citing has mistakes" three parts to prove it.The innovation of this thesis is the methods and features of Ming Wu Interpretation in Mao Shi Ming Wu Jie, which is based on the Ming Wu subject,the theoretical framework is based on Caibian’s concept of Ming Wu and Ming Wu Interpretation thought, in order to clarify the position of this book in the history of the Ming Wu interpretation of the songs.
