For the traditional male morality, Carol Gilligan proposed a different morality that the objects were women, to build a new system of care ethics. From the three pairs of concepts, independent relationships and dependencies, the principle of justice and caring ethics moral principles, rights and responsibility, this paper discusses on Gilligan’s care ethics under the perspective of women. Against the independence as the foundation of moral, basing on to dependency, Gilligan emphasized moral relationship. Against the justice for moral point, basing on emotion, she stressed care as a moral choice and judgment criteria. Opposing the ultimate end-result of morality is to obtain rights itself, on the basis of the relationship between the self and others, she emphasized the responsibility consciousness of self and others. The biggest breakthrough of Gilligan care ethics research was that she found a new kind of moral development stage theory for women from the immature to mature gradually into the process, on the basis of criticizing and inheriting the traditional moral development stage theory. This theory mainly included three stages:the self-preservation tendency, the goodness of self-sacrifice, non-violent moral. Gilligan also stressed care ethics practice. She put the care ethics into the moral education of the west, advocated pay attention to the gender differences in moral education and care to the importance of moral education.With another voice Gilligan interpreted of ethics. Studying her thought and theory can not only enrich the research scope and methods of traditional ethics, and provide a new perspective for the study of ethics. From the point of the practical significance, the research of her thoughts on has the certain enlightenment function on China’s contemporary moral education and the construction of a harmonious society.
