A Study Of Demonstrative Pronouns In

Demonstrative pronoun is a small category under the pronouns,and has instructions and alternative functions.It used in our daily life more frequently.At present,for some reason,study of demonstrative pronoun is not balanced in linguistics circle.The study of modern Chinese demonstrative pronouns is very full,but the minority languages is little.This article will systematically describe and analyze Yi-Burman demonstrative pronouns to conclude its characteristics from the type of Yi-Burman demonstrative pronouns,the word order,the syntactic function and the etymological relationship aspects.The conclusions:first,main type are dichotomy and trichotomy.Multi-division is minority phenomenon.The second,According to different qualified word,there are two orders:demonstrative pronouns-quantifier and demonstrative pronouns-noun.The third,Yi-Burman demonstrative pronouns can do part of the sentence independently as subject,object,attribute and adverbial.The forth,some of Yi-Burman demonstrative pronouns have etymological relationship.Demonstrative pronouns and the third-person pronouns of Yi branch languages have a close relationship,and the third-person pronouns may derive from demonstrative pronouns.At the last,we comparing Yi-Burman demonstrative pronouns with other branch of Tibeto-Burman languages to analyze their relations.
