Application Of RapidIO Technology In Wireless Base Station

For the actual application for baseband data transmission,it is required to evaluate the performance of RapidIO protocol and the feasibility in wireless base station. Based on studying the content of RapidIO,this paper put up a systerm scheme for baseband data fabric systerm(BDFS) project based on RapidIO technology and accomplish the hardware circuit design according to the systerm scheme.BDFS includes five functional modules: processor module, FPGA module, RapidIO module, power module and clock module. The main function for each module and the selected chip used to achieve that function are analysed. Schematic is designed according to functional module and print circuit board of the project is completed.The paper studies the reliability design plan, PCB layout means, signal simulating and power-on sequence control which should be considered in the BDFS design and implements them in BDFS. Testing measures and result for the system are presented, and it is concluded that RapidIO can be used in baseband field by testing.
