Although the geodetic astronomical surveying has mostly been replaced by globalsatellite positioning measurement technique, but in the mapping, defense and aerospace, geodetic astronomical surveying still play an irreplaceable role, such as measuring theazimuth and vertical deviation. When the geodetic astronomical surveying data processing,we need to know the star’s apparent position, and to solve astronomical longitude, astronomical latitude and astronomical azimuth by the apparent position of stars. Thetraditional method to get the star’s apparent position is by looking up the astronomicalephemeris, but this method requires to carry astronomical ephemeris. We cannot inform of theapparent position of the stars quickly and economically. Therefore we need to find star’sapparent position algorithm which meets the need of geodetic astronomical surveying andmodels which meet computer calculating. Developing software by the models of calculatingthe star’s apparent position is undoubtedly the most effective method. The paper studies the algorithm specifically, the main works include:(1) The paper describes the development and applications of the geodetic astronomicalsurveying, as well as the coordinate systems and time systems which are often used in thegeodetic astronomical surveying.(2) The paper focus on the parallax correction, aberration correction, precession andnutation correction and self-correction model which have impact on the star’s apparentposition, obtaining the the algorithm by these correction models.(3) Based on the study of various correction model, in the VS2008development environment, using C++computer language, developed software to calculate the star s apparent position. Then we use the software to calculate the star’s apparent position, comparing with theastronomical ephemeris, to verify the accuracy meets the requirements.(4) Finally, I analyze the shortcomings of the software, and put forward methods to improve the software.
