As for as astronomic surveying, the astronomical instruments such as T3, T4, J05, DKM3used to be connected with timer. By using this way, astronomic surveying must have twoimportant bottlenecks. First the timer has a defect of poor suitability and high repair rate, andthe timer’s life is not long, can’t collect data stably. The other problem is decided by theastronomic surveying method. This method takes more attention on simply observation,reducing systematic error, and it is rigorous in choosing observation time, the position ofsatellite and environment. So the problems including heavy observation tasks, complicatedcomputation and lower efficiency must exist in actual astronomic surveying.The Y/JGT-01astronomicial surveying system (hereafter termed the new system)developed by PLA Surveying and Mapping Institute and General Staff Surveying and MappingTroop One can solve the problems raised above. First, the theoretic design of the new systemhas broken the localization of the traditional surveying. Second, the observation method hasbeen changed. It improved the observation reliability and precision, reduced labour intensity,raised observation efficiency.Since2006, our troop equipped with the new system. Before operating regularly, wetested the new system, and compared the data with T4astronomic surveying system to checkthe capability.For ensuring the new system can meet the requirements of astro-geodetic surveying inintegrity, reliability and stability. The paper studied the process of test operation, analyzed thetesting data and compared the data with traditional astronomic surveying system, and providedsupport for formal operation of the new system.During the test operation process, many constructive advices about how to improve thenew system have been given. Based on this, the new system was perfected, added andimproved many functions.
