The potential of shale oil resource is huge. So the shale oil resource assessment and the prediction of favorable areas of Qingshankou formation in northern Songliao Basin is crucial. Based on shale oil resource classification evaluation, calculate furtherly the shale oil resource potential of Qingshankou in northern Songliao Basin, then predict the favorable area. Firstly calculate the oil shale organic matter abundance, type and maturity of organic matter organic matter of Qingshankou in northern Songliao Basin. Establish the model of between the logs in layer and the hydrocarbon as well as the inorganic mineral content. Portray the Qijiagulong depression, Longhupao depression and Sanzhao depression heterogeneity. Establish the concept of effective shale strata. Calculate the shale oil resources amout of effective layer in Qing 1 and Qing 23 formation. Make compensation correction of S1 and get the resources of correction. Use the method of volume to calculate the shale oil resouces and define the concept of the movable oil. Determine the favorable areas by combining with organic an inorganic field. The recoverable resource of Qing 23 formation is about 150 milion tons and Qing 1 formation is about 350 milion tons. The favorable areas of Qingshankou 1 formation concentrate on the central and northern part of Qijiagulong depression and the Qing 23 concentrates on the western part.
