In 1990, the first technical seminar topic in the thirteenth International Sedimentological Congress in London was Reservoir Sedimentology and Geological Modeling, which symbolized that issues of establishing reservoir geological model had attracted people′s great attention. The establishment of reservoir geological model belongs to petroleum development geology, which is hot topic and focus in reservoir description. With advancement of computer technology and combination of computer and math, significant achievement has obtained in reservoir geological modeling, of which stochastic modeling has great advantages in term of its analysis and spatial distribution in aspect of uncertainty, and been widely applied into petroleum exploration and development, hydrogeology, and engineering geology. This paper is based on the Sinopec Corporation Southwest Oil and gas branch project. The project is Comprehensive study of the Xinchang Shaxi temple JS21, JS23 gas reservoir. Considering the geologic characteristics, stochastic modeling technique is used to establish the geologic model of JS21 gas reservoir including tectonic, strata, and reservoir parameters(porosity, permeability and water saturation) of zone JS21. In chapter two, basic theoretical knowledge of geostatistics is introduced, in chapter three, the principle of stochastic modeling and some mainstream modeling methods, in chapter four, application of stochastic modeling methods at Xinchang oilfield and experiment achievement. On this basis, the prediction of reserves, reservoir classification and evaluation. Based on three-dimensional geological modeling, combined with research, to determine theparameters of gas storage well logging reservoir parameter limit, each layer is JS21 reserves recalculation reserves were 124.11×108m3 by volumetric method. The JS21 gas reservoir remaining reserves to class II, not recoverable reserves of 19.01×108m3.Reservoir parameters dimensional distribution of JS21 gas reservoir have become clearer than ever before through this research, which also provide a reliable basis for the reserves(especially for the remaining reserves) distribution Pattern study, Prolonging stable production period of gas wells, enhancing oil recovery, and etc, in further research.
