With the development of wireless communication technology, automatic data collection technology, the demand for hydrological monitoring automation is increasing in our country, especially in recent years of unusual weather, natural disasters caused by heavy rainfall have greatly hindered the development of society. Meanwhile, the government also attaches great importance to the development of hydrological monitoring projects, published several documents requested further increase river management and dam reinforcement, flash floods geological disasters, disaster prone areas ecological environment comprehensive management efforts. The hydrological monitoring system integrated with data collection, processing, analysis, early-warning is needed. This paper includes the following aspects:(1) Description about the background and significance of hydrological monitoring. In research of the development status of hydrological monitoring system. Analysis from two aspects: the wireless transmission technology and the data processing, the research direction of this paper is determined.(2) Through the demand analysis, Firstly, the hardware structure of hydrological monitoring and its monitoring factors are determined. On this basis, comprehensive designs hydrological monitoring software system and analyzes the key functional modules of business processes.(3)Researching of the hydrological data which in the application of forecast and the technology on hydrological time series motifs mining, and improving the characteristics of the level of the water procession on the basis of the original algorithm, an improved algorithms about the level of water data mining is proposed and validated.(4)The hydrological monitoring system is designed and implementation by using C# programming language, based on the structure of C/S design and combined with the technology of GPRS wireless communication, data acquisition and processing, monitoring data early-warning. The realization and optimization of real-time display, data processing and analysis, data call measurement, point measurement, river flow calculation and data mining module are discussed.Through the tests in the laboratory and the effect of actual application, the system can timely and effective collect and process the hydrological monitoring data. The improved algorithm of water level mining is more accurate than the original algorithm. The effect of actual application is well, and it provides help for hydrology and water conservancy work.
