In this paper, the following studies were made on the distributed-network engineering monitoring and its platform instruction.(1) In respect of the platform of the monitoring system, the model about the distributed-network monitoring system was presented, which is consisted by intellective transducer, locale Ethernet and Internet. The platform of engineering monitoring system is established in the way at which it used the method of system integration based on the network. So it can realize setting up Ethernet in the engineering location. By networking itself with the Internet, it can complete varied engineering live date's transforming and exchanging that maybe break the limits of the district. Compared to the traditional monitoring system, its system core is the computer network system and uses the combine of the LAN and WANS to instruct the integrated platform. Its grave advantage is its active structure, widely generality and the realization from collecting the live data to long-distanced announcing the wide-ranged distributed monitor.(2) To design the basic information unit, that is the intellective network front-end collecting system, of the engineering monitoring system platform, this paper started from the embedded-internet technology and analyzed the varied methods which are used nowadays to network the embedded system with Internet. Based on the deep research about data encapsulation and delivery, it proposed a model about linking Internet based on the serial servers. By choosing the embedded system's communication protocol about link layer, network layer, transmission layer and application layer, it can actualize the specially character that it used Internet as embedded application of the TCP/IP protocol and solved the most important problem about network communication protocol in this model.(3) In respect of realizing the intellective network front-end collecting system, drawing lesson form the concept of traditional smart sensor, this paperpresented the system structure. It invented a embedded Internet system based on the micro-controller which can collect the data coming from eight digital aisles. This circuit can integrate any normal sensor into it and automatically generate the time-marked data frame that is encapsulated as the TCP/IP protocol. That is used as the monitoring system could have the wide generality.(4) This paper deeply investigated the Windows DNA system structure and the distanced distributed COM technology and established software structure about the distributed monitoring system according to the COM+. And based on the need of this framework, it has realized the data collecting and memory module, data reveal and query module and establishing the file system of database.In addition to those options above, the work about this paper is realized at the respect of practical application. By using this distributed network engineering monitoring system platform to automatic system for hydrological measuring and reporting of the irrigated district and compared to the traditional system, it has been proved that this system structure and technical way of soft-hard ware have important referral value to the engineering motoring application system.As regards the deeply application research, as for the kernel problem about how this platform realizes the arranging discharge datum in automatic system of hydrological collection and transmission, that is how to correctly ascertain the relationships of stage-discharge, this paper did those following research work:(1) After studying the traditional Manning formula, author considered it as a proximate formula when it is used to deal with the stage-discharge relations. So there are many problems about this formula. If we use it to describe the relationships of stage-discharge of the crude channels, it must bring many deviations.(2) In this paper, it is the pioneer eyesight to apply the system identification methods belonged to the modern automation principle in the fitting of the stage-discharge relations.
