Spatial Accessibility Evaluation Methods Based On GIS

Accessibility refers to convenience from a given location to an activity location by using a specific transport system, reflecting spatially opportunities and potential of an area being in touch with other relevant areas to conduct socio-economic and technical exchange. With the continuous development of computer technology and GIS technology, the calculation process and result analysis of spatial accessibility increasingly demand intuitive, efficient spatial expression. The combination GIS technology with spatial accessibility evaluation model provides effective technical means for these studies.This article starts with conducting a depth exploration for spatial accessibility concept, cards the common evaluation index and model, and compares the advantages and disadvantages about them. In addition, the paper proposes a complete GIS spatial accessibility evaluation method, explains the key technologies and achieves the integration accessibility evaluation model with GIS technology.First of all, according to clarifying common indicators of the spatial accessibility evaluation, elaborating and comparing spatial accessibility evaluation model, considering that spatial interaction model comprehensively takes into account factors about transportation systems and land use, and the model combines a number of indicators of accessibility evaluation, the evaluation results are more in line with the reality of accessibility.Secondly, based on the powerful advantage such as spatial data management and spatial analysis in GIS technology, spatial accessibility evaluation process based on GIS is established, including data processing, transportation impedance calculation, accessibility calculation, and statistical and visualization about accessibility results.Finally, spatial accessibility evaluation software based on GIS is developed with the support of above evaluation ideas, Software prototype is based on the.Net framework and ArcGIS Engine components, it achieve common accessibility evaluation model. This paper take commercial facilities accessibility assessment of Nanjing City as an example, it shows accessibility evaluation method based on GIS has efficient, and verifies the accessibility evaluation software can quickly realize the calculation and visualization of accessibility value, and improves the efficiency of spatial accessibility evaluation.
