Borehole IP and Tunnel IP method is widely used in resource prospecting field and has already made good effect. This paper is based on three-dimensional finite element numerical simulation IP method, which combined the borehole induced polarization method with tunnel induced polarization method to make the blind ore bodies detection study in three-dimensional spatial domain induced polarization exploration.Use a mine in Gansu province as the basis to establish the theory model, analyzing and summarizing the anomalies corresponded to the model under different ways of observation. This study has certain significance for underground ore exploration.This paper introduces the principle of full spatial domain three-dimensional induced polarization method and the field work methods. In basis of the measured data, the author established the geoelectric model, which also use the three-dimensional finite element numerical simulation and equivalent resistivity method to calculate the apparent resistivity ρs and apparent polarization ηs to differrent models under different working ways; then we drew the apparent resistivity ρs and apparent polarization ηs plane contour map to the ground-ground and tunnel-ground work modes; Besides, we drew those plane contour maps to other working ways, such as ground-tunnel mode, between the tunnels mode, inner tunnel mode, ground-well mode, tunnel-well mode, inner well mode, between the wells mode. Last, analyze and study the anomalies corresponded to the model under different working ways. We can draw some conclusions as follows:To the same anomaly body, there are many different anomaly laws to the different apparent resistivity ρs and apparent polarization ηs under different workings ways or different measurement directions, different power-supply electrodes, different relative spatial positions between the power-supply electrodes and measurement electrodes to the anomaly body.For the same working way, the apparent resistivity ρs and the apparent polarization ηs abnormalities is related to the abnormal body shape, direction, spatial distribution, supply electrodes and measuring electrodes’s relative spatial position.In most cases, the induced polarization anomalies in the full spatial domain are more obvious than usual observation. Integrated use of various working modes can confirm the anomaly plane distribution, trends, tendencies, and spatial occurrence parameters.By analyzing and posting a tunnel induced polarization measurement data to the mine inGansu, we find those apparent resistivity ps and apparent polarization ηs by numerical simulation and the measured apparent resistivity and apparent polarization are very close in the mid-high ore and lean ore, indicating three-dimensional induced polarization in the fully spatial domain detection method is effective to detect the spatial distribution of blind ore bodies.
