The < Shaanxi I49E007004(Yaoxian) amplitude 1:50000 Geological Survey Project > as the basis to is located in the Loess Plateau in the southern margin of the Loess Plateau in Tongchuan New District as an example, through the analysis of the geological characteristics of the study area engineering, using analytic hierarchy process(AHP), by using spatial analysis function of ArcGIS, engineering geological zoning evaluation, and on this basis, combined with natural ecological environment and economic development environment, engineering geological zoning evaluation of suitability of, get the following conclusions:(1) The main engineering geological problems in the study area include loess depression and the study area where the edge of the loess plateau slope failure. Study area according to the collapsible grade 2 Area III and severe wet subsidence, IV very serious collapsibility area; loess plateau slope failure mode can be classified into three types: sudden shear at the foot of the slope sliding, creeping deformation- the edge cracking failure and tension shear located damage. The main cause of the failure is slope water erosion of sloping agricultural irrigation.(2) study of engineering geological zone area, including basic stability area(II) and less stable(III) area. The basic stability of(II) zones with a total area of 14.17km2, accounting for 38.28% of the study area; less stable(III) District, with a total area of 22.85km2, of 61.72% of the study area; loess collapsibility of the engineering geological zoning control action, decided the partition its main line.(3) The engineering geological suitability is more appropriate for(II) and suitable for the poor(III) district. Suitable area(II) with a total area of 36.36km2. 98.22% of the study area, the effect of main factors of its suitability for the loess collapsibility; suitability difference(III) region, with a total area of product accounted for 0.66km2 study area of 1.78 percent.In summary, the evaluation results can objectively reflect the real situation of the study area, which can provide reference for the city construction work.
