Invest in a deposit mining project, it must estimate the grade and reserves first. A deposit of ore, their grade and spatial distribution is to deposit the technical and economic evaluation, feasibility studies, mine planning and mining scheduling is based on a mine important basis for investment decisions.The reserves in China has been in use are calculated pattern of the former Soviet Union, this method has its scope and characteristics, but extensive use of computer technology and the rapid development of today, this method of increasing reserves to show its limitations and backwardness. Particularly in the lack of engineering controls, a small number that is on the ore occurrence, shape, internal structure, a serious shortage of ore quality control, its geology division under the small block and have big calculation errors. The geological statistics compared with the traditional method has obvious advantages. It the most scientific, exploration works to maximize the use of all information provided to the estimated ore grade and ore reserves is much more precise; it can estimate the deposits were the smallest mining block all the grade and reserves, in order to better meet the design requirements of mine; in estimates also give the estimated accuracy, and is unbiased, the estimation variance is minimal (optimal) estimate that the reserves provide a basis for evaluation and utilization.Although the calculation of geological reserves statistical method has many advantages, but the traditional method still block their applications. Geological block method is applicable to any occurrence, form the ore body, it has no need to make other complex maps, and simple calculation methods, and classified according to need block, they were widely used. Based on the lack of practical application and accuracy of tradition geological block method,also because of it’s far-reaching implications in mining production of our country, a new method of reserve estimation is proposed via Tradition Geological block method combine with geostatistics. In this method, the closed polygonal line of block is extract form vertical projection profile, and then doing polygon of constraints ore entity and grade model,Using pull-profile method obtained the average thickness of block ,using the quadratic kriging method obtained the average Grade of block,and then come to the conclusion that the reserve of every block and Ore bodies. To some extent,the ambiguity and refractory due to human factors can avoid by this method of reserve estimation, the accuracy of reserve estimation is increased. In this article, the feasibility of this new method of reserve estimation is proved via Molybdenum Ore of Wuyishan shangxikeng by 3DMine.
