Belt conveyor is mainly used to transport coal in the coal pier. Belt weight meteris commonly used the weight of the coal in the coal handling process real-timedetection. Because of the mal-condition of the coal terminal, there are so manyelements that may influence the belt. This paper analysis the reasons of commonfailure and extract practical solutions.The Siemens PLC300is selected as control unit. And this controller is designedfor industrial situation. AC conversion and speed governing system is used to controlthe belt speed. The weighting system is still use bearing plate device and gravitysensor.Belt weigher often appear the deviation of the belt, the belt slipping, speedmeasuring device such as inaccurate faults during operation. For the deviation of thebelt, this paper analyzes the deviation and the improvement of hydraulic straighteningsolutions, design a set of automatic belt deviation correction system based onhydraulic principle. For slipping of belt, in this paper according to the site of the needfor frame regulating belt, the belt is held at the proper tension, on some occasions canbe used to drive roller with viscosity. The belt speed is an important part of belt scalein the work, according to the fault occurred in the production, the design of a directvelocity measurement for belt method, this method not only can accurately measurethe belt speed, but also can strap slipping phenomenon and slipping degree ofjudgment by the belt speed and drive roller speed comparison.Through the new design of belt scale control system, drive system, weighingsystem and all kinds of fault detection and automatic processing device, the belt meterhave longer continuous operation time, and improve the production efficiency.
