| Highly-argillized coal slurry are difficult to sedimentate because of clay fines. the Hydrophobic agglomeration settlement of montmorillonite fines induced by cetyl trimethyl ammonium chloride and silane coupling agent KH-550was studied in this paper. The effects of the agents dosage, the stirring speed and the stirring duration on the hydrophobic agglomeration settlement of montmorillonite fines were researched by single factor experiments. Besides, the hydrophobic agglomeration settlement of montmorillonite fines was characterized through the method of mean agglomeration size, the light transmittance of the supernatant liquid, mean settling velocity, surface contact angle and compaction height. And the best processing conditions of hydrophobic agglomeration settlement of montmorillonite fines with induced by cetyl trimethyl ammonium chloride and silane coupling agent KH-550were mastered. The conclusions can be shown as follows:1. The surface contact angle increased with increasing the agents dosage. If the agents dosage was constant, the effect of the stirring speed and the stirring duration on the surface contact angle was not obvious.2. Montmorillonite fines closed to each other and collide with the kinetic energy input by stirring. Stirring is helpful to hydrophobic agglomeration.3. The effect of stirring duration on the hydrophobic agglomeration settlement of montmorillonite fines induced by silane coupling agent KH-550was not obvious, but it was obvious, when the hydrophobic agglomeration settlement of montmorillonite fines was induced by cetyl trimethyl ammonium chloride.4. The surface hydrophobic modification mechanism of montmorillonite fines showed that chemisorption and physisorption action coexisted in the hydrophobic modification process of montmorillonite fines with the silane coupling agent KH-550. The effect of the hydrophobic agglomeration settlement of montmorillonite fines silane induced by coupling agent KH-550Was better than that induced by cetyl trimethyl ammonium chloride.5. The effect of stirring duration and the stirring speed on the hydrophobic agglomeration settlement of montmorillonite fines induced by ceryl trimethyl ammonium chloride was not obvious with the less agents dosage, but was obvious with the more agents dosage6. The best processing conditions of the hydrophobic agglomeration settlement of montmorillonite fines induced by cetyl trimethyl ammonium chloride were obtained that the agents dosage was120g/m3, the stirring speed was500r/min, and the stirring duration was5min. And the processing conditions of the hydrophobic agglomeration settlement of montmorillonite fines induced by silane coupling agent KH-550were the best that the agents dosage was120g/m3, the stirring speed was500r/min, and the stirring duration was5min. |
