Continuous casting roller bearing was an important part in continuous castingmachine which provided important support for continuous casting roller. Continuouscasting roller bearing was worked in high temperature, high load, complicatedconditions. If the heat was absorbed by the bearing could not be effectivelydissipated to insufficient cooling, the high temperature would cause thermaldeformation and excessive load broken, resulting in premature failure, affecting theentire casting steel production. Through heat stress analysis of the roller bearing forcontinuous casting machine with FEM(Finite Element Method), discovered thereasons of casting roller bearing failure, and conduct an appropriate optimization forbearing structure based on analysis result to improve the service life of the bearings.There was important significance for continuous casting production.Main research work and content:(1) The CAD and CAE model of roller bearings was established and had beenanalyzed its temperature field, which took the casting roller bearing ofCCM(Continuous Casting Machine) segment as object to research. The temperaturedistribution in the inner ring of the bearing was the highest, in the outer ring thelowest under the cooling water conditions and transferred from the inner ring toouter ring, but the maximum temperature gradient was in the direction of X axiswhich the continuous casting roller towards the cover.(2) The coupling field of the stress and the thermal of continuous casting rollerbearing was analyzed,and the results showed that the highest stress of bearingreached411.3MPa in the condition of sufficient cooling water, which higher162.0MPa than no thermal load. And little more20.4MPa than the allowable stress,the thermal load was the damage cause for the roller bearing.(3) Continuous casting roller bearing was optimized analysis. the rollingelement of continuous casting roller bearing into the hollow was changed, throughanalysis with FEM obtained the stress of the rolling element was minimum in thehollowness reach60%and under the given boundary conditions, the stress wasuniform distribution, which provides a reference for the improvement the casting roller bearing.The research work of this paper had a certain reference in understand thedistribution of temperature field and thermal coupling field for casting roller bearing.
