Flat die pellet mill is one of the key equipments of producing of wood pellet. In view ofthe characteristics of the existing flat die pellet mill, such as lower output and productivity,difficult to apply to large wood pellet production line, this paper puts forward to a new designproposal of flat die pellet mill which production is15to20t/h In accordance with the designproposal,this paper also designs main body structure of the flat die pellet mill. The mainresearch contents of this paper are as follows:1. Analyzing the working principles and characteristics of existing flat die pellet mill, andaccording to the theoretical yield’s requirement of big production flat die pellet mill, thethesis calculates the number of roller and flat die in flat die pellet mill and their basicparameters by analysis. Referring to the force application system of vertical mill in the cementindustry, and combining with the existing parameters of roller and flat die, the thesis successfuldesigns a force application system which is suitable for the pellet mill force and puts forward toa reliable transmission scheme. Being based on the established contents, the thesis calculatesthe roller die pressure affecting the material extrusion and forming, transmission gear, thehydraulic force application system, the key standard parts and determines some key designparameters and models.2. This paper designs a mechanical roller-die gap adjustment device. This design uses the wayof manual adjustment bolt to adjust the clearance between roller and flat die. Comparing totraditional gasket adjustment method, this adjustment device realizes the integrated design ofthe adjusting device and the flat die pellet mill, its structure is reliable and operation isconvenient. This design gives full consideration to the condition of the practical work of pelletmill, on the basis of the existing roller-die gap adjustment devices, an adjustment scheme whichis more in line with the actual working condition is put forward.3. Using Solidworks modeling technology to design all parts of the main structure in the bigproduction flat die pellet mill, modeling and assembly them. Then carrying out theinterference checking to the main structure, the results show that interference phenomenondon’t exists in pellet mill. The paper designs a electric protection circuit to protect the machinewhen it come to the disturbance between the roller and flat die at the same time.4. Using the ANSYS Workbench12software to analyze the static structure of support frame inflat die pellet mill, results show that the structure design of support frame is reasonable andmeet the strength requirements; The result of the pinion shaft’s static structure analysis andmodal analysis shows that the strength of the pinion shaft meet the strength requirements andthe pinion shaft will not appear obvious resonance phenomenon.5. Using the ADAMS software to carry out the dynamics simulation of roller and flat die parts,get the simulation results of roller-die parts’ speed and the roller’s position change, throughanalysis, results explain pellet mill accords with the mechanical operation rule of start stage, and stable running, changes to the position of the roller sports caused by flat die can beneglected, roller and flat die is relatively independent.
