Home life is always the main way for people to relax, relieve work pressure, andenhance the feelings of family members. As people continue to pursue the highquality of life, modern people are increasing the emphasis of their home clothing.There is a wide variety of modern home clothing, the different functions of homeclothing could meet the behavioral requirement of people’s daily live. Since thesixteenth century Europe, pajamas had development so far. It always is the mostcommon and the most popular clothing at home. It also always the favorite ofconsumers and been the leader in the home clothing market. Although, the meaning ofpajamas is the clothing when people is sleeping or sleeping around, people alwaystend to magnify the function of pajamas in their daily life. People will be put onpajamas as long as at home. So the research for pajamas design is particularlyimportant.The pajamas are different from out clothing. People dress it at home, so whenpeople choose pajamas only according to their dressing habits or preferences, withoutregard to certain social factors. This peculiarity of pajamas demands us particularemphasis on the expression between people’s inner feelings and clothing in the designprocess. Emotional design philosophy follows the “people-oriented”, at the same timeensure products could meet the practical function, put the emotional level expressioninto products, and promote emotional communication between products and consumer.In the modern fashion design, emotion is used to judge the value of clothing. The lovewhich is triggered by the emotion of a clothing brand or product is lasting andprofound. So, the emotional design features has become one of the most importantfeatures of modern fashion design.Firstly, this paper introduces the background, the research status anddevelopment, significance and value of the subject starts from the perspective ofpajama’s emotional design. Secondly, proposes the concept of modern pajamas simpleand overview of the development since ancient times. Chapters3and4as a corechapters of this paper, the former analysis the characteristics of human emotions exhaustive, the propose and development of emotional design theory, the performancein all aspects of product and tentative analysis of the future research trends. Thirdly,according to collect and analysis a large number of modern sleepwear styles,describes the theory of pajamas emotional design: the emotional needs of peoplewearing pajamas and designers to communicate with consumers emotionally, theemotional design elements of pajamas, design Features, application Analysis specific.One more time, combined with the author’s related investigations, and designpractical works tentative, summarize the application value of emotional design theoryreflects in the design of pajamas. At last, concludes the paper, proposed thedevelopment trend of design pajamas in the future, and attaches to this topicquestionnaire design in the appendix.
