Currently, in the production process of the ferroalloy electric furnace, most still need manual methods, the experience and feeling of operator, to depreciate electrodes. It not only increases the labor intensity of operator, but also leads to sinter the electrode, and makes electric furnace condition unstable. In some of the existing submerged arc furnace automatic control system, mostly use the traditional PID control strategy. Therefore, in terms of the existing problems in submerged arc furnace control system, we designed a new submerged arc furnace control system.Firstly, the electrode conditioning is the core in the submerged arc furnace control. The model of submerged arc furnace is difficult to attain, and the model has a strong time-varying and nonlinear characteristics. Using simple traditional PID controller is difficult to obtain good control effect.Secondly, the motor starts easily overheat the motor and damage the motor, and effect the life of the implementing agencies, but also it is very energy-consuming.And the system allows for some deviation. So the decision to adopt the system of fuzzy PID with dead zone control strategies is made mention. We designed fuzzy controller with dead zone. And according to process requirements and national standards, the treatment strategies of power grid overloaded is proposed.Finally, using of modular designing, we make use of the high-performance C8051F040MCU as the core to control the submerged arc furnace control system, including parameters of the control module, display module, UART communication subsystem, human-computer dialogue and motor drive controller module and power control section. The intelligence of the system can be improved.With the above solutions, the control effect of DC current in electric arc furnace has been improved. And adding deadzone into system, the problem of the motor frequently starting also has been solved well.The intelligence of the system can be improved, by modular designing.
