With oxy-fuel combustion system technology float glass has more significantly water content and special defects such as tin penetration,"bloom" phenomenon and the like. In order to investigate how water change in glass forming process and effect on tin penetration, In this paper, we measured variation of water content in top surface layer, middle layer and tin surface layer of oxy-fuel combustion float glass and air-fuel combustion float glass; Studied structure of glass by using NMR, and measured viscosity, coefficient of thermal expansion, water resisting property;Prepared glass with different water content and simulated glass formation to study the correlation of water content and tin penetration; We studied the effect of ratio of H2and iron on reducing tin content, also explored the effect of H2catalyst in decreasing tin content. Through a series of Characterizations, discussions and analysis, this paper reached the following conclusions:1、The analysed results by FTIR shown that air-fuel combustion float glass has lower water content than oxy-fuel combustion float glass, and there is no obvious change in water content in glass forming process. While water content in top surface layer of oxy-fuel combustion float glass reduce more with increasing in the ratio of H2and thickness, middle layer’s has no variation, and water content in tin surface layer change with thickness only.2、Through measurement of structure and property of oxy-fuel combustion float glass and air-fuel combustion float glass found that proportion of Q2andQ3species is increased, Q4species in decreased and viscosity is reduced in same temperature, coefficient of thermal expansion is increased;3、The more H2O vapor in molten atmosphere, the more water content in glass. Experimental results of simulate float glass formation were shown that glass with more water, the smaller change of Sn concentration with depth gradient, the greater depth of tin penetration and faster in rate of diffusion.4、Glass prepared in atmosphere of oxy-fuel combustion and air-fuel combustion had been simulated formation respectively. Analysis of results found that when ratio of H2is6-7%,tin penetration of former glass could be controlled well; Adding iron in glass formation process can reduce tin penetration, a optimal content of Fe obtained and that is0.4%. 5、Glass tin content declined by16%at the temperature of1050℃by using H2catalyst, while there is no obvious effects at900℃。...
