Conventional beam pumping unit is the most widely used mechanical recovery of oilpumping equipment, occupies a pivotal position in the mechanical recovery; However, the lowefficiency of its operation, energy consumption, the oilfield power consumption, second onlytowater injection, has become one of the major equipment for oilfield power consumption. Inaddition, the main oil region of China’s oil fields already in the stage of high water cut crudeoil extraction effect of variation, the high cost of oil exploration. Beam pumping unit is the useof three-phase asynchronous motors provide power, due to the particularity of its load, themotor most cases in the light load state, reduce the utilization of electrical energy, increasingenergy loss. In this paper, the electromechanical control technology to change the mechanicalcharacteristics of the pumping unit drive motor, in order to avoid the occurrence of thephenomenon of the "big horse cart, so that the whole machine, rod pump system can be betterbalanced, eliminating the problem of power generation, reducing energy consumption toimprove the efficiency of the system, therefore, the subject activities that contribute to the oilfields to increase output and energy saving, the economic significance of the oil industry.The papers to the conventional beam pumping unit charged objects, works on the basicprinciple of the frequency control and pumping unit and load characteristics were elaboratedand analysis. Pumping motor with inverter control, to control the motor current inputfrequency, according to the size of the load rate of the motor to adjust the pumping unit of themotor operating voltage and the input power of the motor by changing the frequency of motorinput, to ensure that the motor in the optimum load rate run, to improve power factor, therebyimproving the actual operational efficiency of the motor, to achieve the power-savingefficiency purposes, the pumping motor saving rate in more than15%, the power factor fromthe original0.3to about more than0.9.Commissioning of the pumping unit control system and experimental control function ofthe pumping unit, the control scheme is feasible and good control performance, can achievethe purpose of energy efficiency. The device has a variety of protective measures to ensure thestable and reliable operation of the system.
