As the digitization, network and globalization goes faster and faster, proofing technology has developed from the traditional proofing to the digital proofing. However, in the domestic publication area, especially in the military map publication area, due to kinds of reasons, such as the complexity of multi-source map data, the digital proofing can't completely replace the traditional proofing in practice. In order to solve this difficult problem, the main research achieved in this dissertation is presented:1. The paper puts forward a set of different technical schemes that reorganize the multi-source map data into prepress data according to different map data. And then the secondary reorganization scheme of prepress data based on database technology is offered. All these schemes greatly improve the efficiencies and qualities of transforming multi-source map data into prepress data.2. In the paper, a digital proofing examining scheme based on screen and hardcopy is introduced, which builds a complete way applied in the digital proofing technology of the map expression and examining, by means of different methods, such as color control, line control, and screen examining mechanism and so on.3. In digital proofing examining, a color control mechanism that takes use of black box technology based color conversion model is developed, which achieves highly consistent color effect between the digital proofing and printing.4. A model of line width control based on neural network is developed. And then most of the factors, which affect the quality of printing and proofing, have been taken into account on the basis of current digital hardcopy technology. So the problem of line width distortion between hardcopy proofing sample and presswork has been resolved5. Three kinds of separated printing plate examining models based on screen are put forward, by means of which the color separation errors in map prepress data are properly corrected.6. A relation-model-based database for the designed printing color is designed and built, which makes good preparations for the secondary reorganization scheme of prepress data and the colorful data examination.7. In the end, a digital proofing examining system based on screen and hardcopy is designed and programmed, and an interactive user interface, which enables the examination and the results flexible viewing, is designed.
