Use Of Multi-source Publishing System Based On Digital Map Data

With the continuous development of modern cartographic theories and the high tech's extensive applications in the field of map production, now the map production has achieved digital workflow, and is expanding to integration of digital mapping and publishing edit. Having finished the transform from analogue phase to digital phase, the use of multi-source data becomes one of the problems that should be solved on edge in digital map publishing system. According to this subject, the author presents the use of multi-source data based on digital map publishing system.The main achievements of this paper are listed as follows:1. Having looked back on the developmental process of map publishing, points out the necessity of the use of multi-source data in digital map publishing system, in the meantime, summarizes the status of domestic and international relevant researches.2. The use of multi-source data concentrates its focus on: data format, data content and the way which data content is represented. Then the author builds general frame of multi-source data's use, and presents general route of realization from data source description, data structure mapping to data recombination.3. Relying on database and geographic data engine discusses and designs the organization and management of multi-source data in digital map publishing system.4. By virtue of COM technique, constructs the schema of multi-source data's use based on middleware, the consistent access of multi-source data is achieved.5. In the end, a practice in the use of multi-source data is implemented based on digital map publishing system.
