In the thesis, the investigation objects include the construction method and the related technologies for the client end in the spatial information mobile service. The study focus is put on the core function modules, including the mobile positioning, the mobile communication and the embedded GIS function development modules of the client end. Abundant analysis and expt.'rimentation are made on the principle technology and the realization technique of these core modules.Firstly, a comprehensive introduction is given on the basic concepts and the fundamental system structure of the spatial information mobile service, and a deep expatiation is made on the client end environment, the related technology together with its research purpose and meaning based on the advance introduction of the spatial information mobile service. Secondly, investigation and experimentation are carried out towards the three core modules of the client end, which comprise:1. The study on the mobile positioning module of the client end, in which a deep and comprehensive analysis and investigation is implemented on its several key properties, such as the positioning mode, the reception and processing of the positioning data, the positioning data input through the serial port, and a practical realization scheme is proposed for it;2. The discussion on the communication mode of the client end, in which a comparison is performed over the different communication approaches of the client end and a communication mode of the embedded system that transfers and commutes spatial information through the HTTP protocol in the XML file format is studied and experimented;3. The research on the embedded GIS and the embedded development platform eSuperMap, in which an introduction is given on the embedded GIS and the embedded development platform eSuperMap, and the secondary exploitation for the GIS functions using eSuperMap are executed.Finally, a spatial information mobile service client end system is designed and realized based on the above investigation and research in the related technologies and under the support of the related scientific research task. The system takes a set of self-developed portable mobile end as the hardware platform and the Windows CE embedded operation system as the software platform, adopts the GPS and Beidou combined positioning mode, and transfers and commutes spatial data through the INMARSAT.
