Environment ptimization and economy development are decided how to valid and visual management.It is very important meaning to created the integrity water environment management information system for FuXianHu Lake basin information management.The Paper treat the FuXianHu Lake as the research object,The concete content is as follows:(1),On consulting the domestic and foreign documents about water resources and environment,intruduce the application of the GIS in the water management,the drainage structure,the river basin environment monitor condition,water pollution source distribution and the water qulity category condition in the last few years,discuss the practicability and necessity of water environment information management system with GIS.(2),The paper emphasizes the research on developing plan of management information system on water environmental state and water environmental quality supported by technology of geographic information systems.It discusses the process of design and development for the whole system and relative technology,which includes systematic user interface,systematic structure design,design and establishment of systematic database,realization of systematic function,systematic developing mode,soft and hard configuration and so on.(3),To aim at the concrete demands of evaluation about the water quality currently,the system employed some techniques such as Visual Basic 6.0 and Access2003 to set up a database on Fuxian Lake'water qulity property,and to realize the function of adding,amending,deleteing and inquiring data and so on.(4),The IMS of Fuxian Lake 'water environment is designed by taking advantage of the advanced program of Visual Basic 6.0 and the widget MapObjects,this system can not only run some space analysis function such as picture superposition analysis and picture buffering analysis,but also conduct layer renderer by using the following ways:ChartRenderer,ClassBreakRenderer,ValueMapRenderer,DotDensity Renderer and LabelRenderer.Furthermore,it can function on the graphical data to zoom, robots,and other functions(5),The system can evaluate Fuxian Lake'water quality and then provide some basic information to make strategic decision for Environment Protect Department.(6),The system can help to inquire some basic characteristic such as the size and name of a graph through the ways of expression inquiry and property inquiry.The application of GIS technology in water environment evaluation and management certainly will promote and boost the huge improvement on environment preservation. Environment Information system based on GIS could support various planning and Valuations of environmental projects,at the same time,it supported quantitative and qualitative analysis.It could deal with non-spatial and spatial information and then simulation movement of environment.
