The mineral composition of copper-nicel sulfide researched in this paper is relatively complex, more than 40 kinds of minerals included. The mainly useful minerals are chalcopyrite and pentlandite, followed by magnetite and pyrrhotite.The content of gangue is large, mainly including chlorite, serpentine, quartz, feldspar, actinolite, tremolite and talc. The target minerals, chalcopyrite and pentlandite,are widely distributed, with a large part being among gangue as inclusions in the form of fine and microfine particles.According to the properties of ore, several flowsheets were explored in this paper, such as single gravity separation flowsheet, the joint of gravity seperation and flotation, the joint of magnetic seperation and flotation, and single flotation (preferential flotation flowsheet and bulk flotation flowsheet). The experimental study showed that the index of bulk flotation flowsheet were the best of all.On the basis of exploring experiments, grinding and flotation reagent conditional experiments were carried out. It is determined that the grinding fineness is 85% minus 200 mesh. Through comparative analysis between ball and rod mill grinding effect, the impact of particle size uniformity to the flotation index is defined, and this should be attentioned in the production. After a series of reagent conditional tests, it is determined that taking water glass and CMC as depressant, butyl xanthate as collector, pine oil as frother, and the best reagent dosage is also determined. The distribution of reagent in roughing process, the use of "hunger administration Law" is benifical to the improvement of concentrate grade. For kinetic factors, tests found that the pulp temperature and the time of collecting affected obviously on the flotation indexes. In production the effect can be obtained by extension of acting time between reagents and minerals. The collector acting time should also be effectively controlled in order to get the best product index.After the open-circuit test, some explored tests were carried out, such as the separation test of copper and nickel to mixing concentrate, magnetic separation to tailings, and so on. Finally, the the regrinding and re-election to middlings is determined to enhance the recovery. Then on this basis, closed circuit tests were carried out, and recovery of copper, cobalt, gold, silver was researched. Closed circuit test obtained a satisfactory result. When the grade of run of mine was 0.39%, the grade of concentrate reached to 3.11%, and the recovery was more than 54.62%.
