Glass and aluminum is an important industrial material, They are consumables in our daily life. A large number waste glass and waste aluminum were generated in the process of manufacture and use, waste glass/aluminum metal matrix composite was prepared by waste glass and waste aluminum material can recycle these two kinds of solid waste massively. It is a high added-value way of disposing solid waste. In the recent years, on the background of energy shortage, lacking of resources, environmental pollution, waste glass and waste aluminum were prepared to waste glass/aluminum metal matrix composite, which is well of recycling of resources, reducingg energy consumption and protecting the environment. On the other hand, it is good for the development of recycling economy and venous industry.Waste glass/aluminum metal matrix composite has better abrasion resistance. It is fit for the occasions of light in weight and with better abrasion resistance. Adopting semi-solid mechanical stirring method, which is a traditional metallurgical process, prepare Waste glass/aluminum metal matrix composit. Its equipment is simple and it can achieve batch-bulk production. Due to the irrationality of the flow field, the non homogeneous distribution of the glass particles appears in flow field, the glass particles will agglomerat and float during mixing of glass and aluminum. As a result, the quality of composite materials is very unstable. Mixing process was controlled by fluid flow. The quality of mixing mainly depended on flow field model in a stirred tank. The Impeller's role is to provide energy and flow field model which is better for mixing. Through the adjustment and optimization of the structures and dimensions of Impeller gain is achieved to better flow field model for mixing.The commercial CFD softwarbe Fluent6.2 is used to carry out numerical simulation study on mixing flow field that blender prepares Waste glass/aluminum metal matrix composites in this paper. This paper mainly studies the effect of structure of fan impeller combination on the flow field stirred tank and mixing effect. The flow field of single layer fan stirring paddles,double layer fan stirring paddles and three layer fan stirring paddles was analyzed. And, the flow field and the mixing process were analyzed with the distance to liquid surface,the distance between layers,the diameter of paddles^ the marshalling angles of three layer fan stirring paddles. The optimization of agitation tank structure parameters was give in preparing waste glass/aluminum metal matrix composite. Finally the effectiveness was validated through the experiment. The main conclusions as following:(1) Push-down type fan paddle contributed to mixture moving to bottom from liquid surface, Push-up type fan paddle contributed to mixture upward transmission, straight blade paddle contributed to raise radial and tangential velocity.(2) With the increase of layer of paddles, the axial velocity is rising, but increasing slightly.(3) The mixing process was influenced by flow field of stirred tank, the turbulent mass transfer diffusivity relevant to fluid flow.(4) The parameters of mixer impeller which is optimal, distance between layers is 65mm, The marshalling angles is 90 degree, he diameter of paddles is 96mm, the distance to liquid surface is 145mm. The optimizing agitation tank is better for mixture.
