The topic comes form a domestic enterprise vehicle wheel production line project.The traditional heavy vehicle wheels with deep groove are usually made by welding and assembling with Q235,which is heavy weight,heat slowly,high fuel consumption and poor mobility.As energy sources are depleting,the government begin to emphasize energy-saving and The Twelfth Five-Year Guideline.On this premise,the traditional materials and forming processes can’t satisfy with the policy of equipment lightweight.This paper takes means of lightweight using 7A04 aluminum alloy as raw material and then to study on the forming process of high strength aluminum alloy wheel.Because 7A04 material flow stress is more seriously affected by temperature and that its Forging temperature interval is narrow and small.This paper has developed a suitable method of high-strength aluminum alloy wheels production technology.The process route is one step forging,once flaring,and spinning while the workpiece is hot.The forging and flaring are studied on three-dimensional thermal coupling FEM analysis by using Deform-3d so the rule of metal flow and the distributions of stress, strain, velocity and temperature field can be obtained, as well as the stroke-load curve. The hot spinning is studied on FEM analysis by using simufact so the spinning force, forming process, stress and strain and the temperature field distribution rule can be obtained.Through process of each working procedure of the simulation, obtained a relatively optimized process parameters and applied the parameters for trial production.The aluminum alloy wheels are significantly enhance performance, and the weight is reduced about 50% which are compared with the traditional steel wheel.The lightweight effect is outstanding.Test results show that the process parameters formulation is reasonable, the technological process is feasible.This paper is provides forging forming of high strength aluminum alloy wheel for foundation and guarantee.
