Double-row and Multi-function Paper-bag machine is a kind of efficient and automaticbag making equipment, it has a complicated structure, high degree of automation and a lot offault types. Once it break down, fault is difficult to promptly eliminate and affect theequipment’s efficiency.The bag making equipment manufacturers are pursuiting of highproduction efficiency and low production cost, but they ignore the influence of faultdiagnosis on the production efficiency.Therefore developed double-row and multi-functionalpaper-bag machine fault diagnosis expert system, can help to solve the fault when equipmentis in the work timely, further improve the utilization efficiency of equipment.The work of this paper is to study how to apply artificial intelligence technology toeliminate the fault rapidly when the equipment is operating.On the basis of the analysis of it’sstructure and bag-making process, i designed and developedthe fault diagnosis expert systemof double-row and multi-functional paper-bag machine combined with expert experience andartificial intelligence technology.This article main research content is:(1) analyzed all kinds of characteristics of double-row and multi-function paper-bagmachine.Based on all kinds of single type of bag making machine work process analysis andresearch, analyzed the cause of the problem and find out the solutions on the basis of all kindsof failure phenomenon.(2) making a researchof fault diagnosis expert system’s knowledge acquisition methodand the representation method of double-row and multi-function paper-bag machine, todetermine the structure of knowledge base.And establish the fault diagnosis expert system’sknowledge base, let the double row of multi-function bag making machine possible fault beclassified.(3) according to the type and characteristic of the fault proposed the fault diagnosisreasoning algorithm, and through the SQL program accessed the established knowledgebase.Finally realized the diagnostic function of the system.(4) based on Visual Basic Computer language built the human-machine interfaceofpaper-bag machine fault diagnosis expert system. and built expert system knowledgeacquisition and knowledge check module by the accessing program.(5) esearch and developedthe fault diagnosis expert systemof double-row andmulti-function paper-bag machine, and worked in the plant to check up it’s performance.In this paper, the developed system successfully passed the practical fault diagnosis ofdouble-row and multi-function paper-bag machine, and its diagnosis is consistent with thefinal diagnosis by experts. therefore, the production practice has proved that this system forfault diagnosis of this machine is a practical one, and it’s diagnosis speed is faster.
