Since the advent of forging hydraulic press in the 19 th century, the development of technology and technological level rapidly, has become one of the indispensable equipment in current industrial production. With the progress of industrial technology, especially the hydraulic technology and microelectronics technologies, forging hydraulic press get rapid development, and gradually have advantages of forged speed, good control accuracy and intelligence. However, the high energy consumption, heavy pollution, big noise and other problems still exist. Fast forging conditions, the energy utilization rate of forging hydraulic press is very low, for kilowatts of installed power on forging hydraulic press, the consumption of energy is enormous. Therefore the research on energy saving of hydraulic forging press, to achieve green manufacturing, is a research direction with practical significance.The paper proposed energy saving complex control strategies and complex control systems of fast forging hydraulic system, that based on the energy consumption mechanism of proportional valve controlled forging hydraulic system, focus on the following work:(1) Give the reasons for forging hydraulic press forging system of high energy consumption, through the research on the energy consumption of the proportional valve controlled fast forging hydraulic press, proposed position-double pressure compound control strategy for energy losses because of excessive pressure and the high pressure of return cylinder in reduction.(2) Theoretical deduced energy saving effect of the position-double pressure compound control fast forging system, analyzed the main factors affecting the energy consumption of the system. Established simulation model of the position-double pressure compound control fast forging system, simulated on the control performance and the energy saving effect of the system. Effects of pump outlet and the working pressure difference and the return cylinder back pressure on the energy consumption of the system was researched.(3) Proposed forging system that based on valve and pump compound control for energy losses because of excessive pressure and excessive flow, by using the advantages of low energy consumption of variable frequency pump-control system and high response of valve control system.(4) Introduced the principle and control strategies of valve and pump compound control system, theoretical deduced energy saving effect of the fast forging system, analyzed the main factors affecting the energy consumption. Established simulation model of the valve and pump compound control fast forging system, simulated on the control performance and the energy saving effect of the system. Effects of pump outlet and the working pressure difference and the forging frequency on the energy consumption of the system was researched.(5) Experimental researched on the compound control fast forging systems and verified the results of theoretical analysis and simulation, based on experiment platform of 0.6MN free forging hydraulic press. Verify that the compound control fast forging system has obvious advantages in energy efficiency by comparing the energy consumption of proportional valve fast forging hydraulic system.
