The paper studies the formation of thermoplastic fiber compound plates by using the waste fiber (cotton > polyester and polypropylene fiber), the traditional textile machines and the hot processing equipment, and the relation between their properties and processing parameters. The plates are obtained by two steps: compound felt and hot pressing shaping. The opening, mixture, carding, net-paving and needling process that affect shaping process of the blending fiber needle felt are investigated. Then it is concluded that the fiber nets from the BC-272B carding machines are uniform when the rolling speeds of licker-in, cylinder, doffer roller of the roller carding machine are 900r/min, 850r/min and 15.6r/min separately. The fiber needle felt is in a good condition when the paving nets have 8 layers, the type of the felting needle is 30, the density of needling is 1800end/m2, and the depth of needling is 3mm. The weight of fiber compound needling felt is 200g/m2. Also, the shaping temperature, time, pressure and other technological parameters have an effect on the mechanics property and physics property of the fiber compound plates. The results show that with lOMPa shaping pressure the best shaping condition is 40% content of the polypropylene, 200 癈 shaping temperature and 4 min shaping time. Under these conditions, the mechanics properties of compound plates are achieved: tensile strength 51.0MPa, bending strength 65.4MPa, and the density of fiber compound plates is 0.9815g/cm2. The water absorption of fiber compound plates can be reduced effectively from 11.7% to 5.08% by enhancing the layers of pure polypropylene on the surface of fiber compound plates.Meanwhile, the non-flame property of the fiber compound plates is studied through the method of the needle felt flame retardant agent solute impregnation process. The principle of the inflaming-retarding of the fiber compound plates is expounded and the effect of different content of fiber, Ammonuim polyphosphate and Decabromodiphenyl oxide on its non-flame property is dealt with. The combining use of Ammonuim polyphosphate and Decabromodiphenyl oxide has a good effect. When the content of flame retardant agent is 25%, the fiber compound plates' LOI is 30.2, and its' mechanics properties is the tensile strength reduced from 51.0MPa to 39.3MPa and the bending strength from 65.4MPa to 62.3MPa. The flame retardant agent has a certain effect on tensile strength but not bending strength.
