This project is based on the CAD/CAM/CAE software UG NX2.0 developed by EDS. A parameterized design system of plastics mold is developed by using network database. In this thesis, CAD history, situation of CAD development & application in our country and overseas, trend of development, defects of current CAD software and the importance of secondary development are first introduced. And then key technology of system implement are introduced:(l) Parameterized Technology: constraint, method of parameterized design, feature, technology of feature molding and parameterized feature molding; (2) Database Technology: database model, network database model(including centralized model, file server model, C/S model and Browser/Server model), SQL, ODBC. And then steps of creating databases are presented which are used in creating library of standard parts. And then study on UG/Open GRIP, UG/Open API, UG/Open UI Styler, UG/Open Menu Script are made and some examples are given. Then the thesis introduced how to use UG/Open GRIP as well as UG/Open API, UG/Open UI Styler, UG/Open Menu Script to make a secondary development of UG System implement and structure design are done on the basis of key technology above. The system consist of standard parts library sub-system(including general purpose and plastics ejection mold standard parts library), ejection sub-system of plastics injection mold based on features and automatic assembly sub-system. And the library of standard parts is created by using SQL SEVER 2000 with C/S mode. The method to create library of standard parts is introduced and examples of how to use the library and the ejection sub-system of plastics injection mold are also given.
