Along with increasing production ratio of the plate and pipe for Chinese steel industry, the plate supplied to the market has been getting more and more. The marketing competition is getting fiercer every day, the requirement for the plate surface is also getting higher and higher. During the process of hot rolling for the plate, the slab will produce scale when it reheated and it will be easy to produce secondary scale when it was rolling. If the scale cannot be removed in time, it will not only be pressed into the plate and result in the surface quality defective, but also increase the wear for the rolls. So the slab descale technology is directly related to the product quality and the cost, it is the core process technology for plate produce.After investigating the descale technology application for several domestic steel plants, this article introduces the latest development status for high pressure descale equipments at present. Starting with theory research, it expatiates the scale forming reasons and high pressure descale theoretic analyses and calculations. Combining the produce practice, it analyses the existing defectives of process equipments configuration for 1725mm Steckel Mill of Kunming Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. On the basis of impact force theoretic calculations and considering the integration facts of process layout, investment and feasibilities, etc., it points out the improvement methods and analyses the comparison of the descale result before and after the improvement. It further expatiate allkinds of facts affecting the high pressure decasle result and corresponding resolving scheme. It also points out the scheme for improving the descale result and the process methods need to be pay attention.
