The composite materials are widely used nowadays and the global safety and environmental conservation consciousness are increasing, the requirement of the fire security and the product flame retardant is becoming more and more stricter, the pursue object of people is halogen free, light concentration smoky, light toxic and good heat stability environmental conservation flame retardant.Oligomeric phosphate flame retardant is just about accord with development demand. In this paper, the resorcinol bis(diphenyl phosphate)(RDP), hydroquinone bis(diphenyl phosphate)(RDP), 4,4 -Sulfonyldiphenol bis(diphenyl phosphate)(BDP), Bisphenol-S bis(diphenyl phosphate) ( BSDP ) and 4,4'-(1-phenylethylidene) bisphenol bis(diphenyl phosphate) were synthesized, and RDP BDP applyed in composite materials were researched.In this paper, oligomeric phosphate flame retardant such as resorcinol bis(diphenyl phosphate)(RDP) was synthesized by transesterification: resorcinol bis(diphenyl phosphate)(RDP) was synthesized by triphenyl phosphate and resorcinol, on condition of decompress. The effects of process parameters, such as molar ratio, reaction tempereture and catalyst on the yiled were studied respectively. The suitable synthesis conditions were defined as follows: the molar ratio of triphenyl phosphate and resorcin was 2.1:1, PhONa was the best catalyst, its dosage was 1.5% of the amount of the resorcinol.The first step reaction temperature was 120-130℃, the reaction time was about 25min; the second step reaction temperature was160-170℃,the reaction time was 30min;the third step reaction temperature reaches 210-220℃,to remove the unreacted phenol and superfluous TPP. The yield reached 93.0%. The structure of the compoud was confirmed by ~1HNMR, IR and element analysis, and the heat stability was analysed by TGA-DTA.On the base of reference bibliography, flame retardant property for resorcinol bis(diphenyl phosphate)(RDP), 4,4 -Sulfonyldiphenol bis(diphenyl phosphate)(BDP) tested in different plastic products were made. The results showed they are good flame retardant. The material can reach the UL-94, V-0 level.The method of Oligomeric phosphate synthesized by transesterification is not found in the literatures by far. Thre patent was applied and the product was industrialized in Lianyungang marine chemical. Co. Ltd.
