Carbon Nanotubes / Styrene Butadiene Rubber / Natural Rubber Composite Structure And Performance

It is purified the MWNTs by the HNO₃ oxidation treatment in this article, then surface modified the acid treated MWNTs by the surfactants SDS and KH550, and prepared the modified MWNTs/SBR/NR composite materials by the mixing, Influence of comsumption of MWNTs and method of modification for properties of SBR/NR vulcanized rubber is studied. As a result,purification doesn't destroy the structure of MWNTs, the MWNTs that surfactants SDS and KH550 modified have good dispersion in the water, as the increasement of the MWNTs which surfactants SDS modified, the scorch time and optimum cure time of rubber increased,the vulcanized velocity decreased, the tensile intensity,tear intensity,Shore A hardness,crosslinking density,the bound rubber,fatigue properties increased. As the same comsumption of MWNTs,mechanical properties of KH550 modified MWNTs reinforced rubber is better than surfactants SDS modified MWNTs reinforced rubber.
