Study Of Corporate Environmental Performance Assessment Methods

Along with the continuous economical development, the attention of the entire society to the environmental protection is unprecedented. Under the pressure from government and public, as well as own strict request from enterprise, the management of environmental aspects relating to the operation and its resulting environmental effect should be carried out in order to continuously improve its environment performance. Therefore it's the enterprise's inevitable choice to establish an environmental management system and carry out environmental performance evaluation. Then how to implement the environmental performance evaluation becames the issue and the study on it is very important not only on how to perform the evaluation but also on how to improve the environmental management.In this paper,the following work has been done mainly:1. While the concept of the environment performance evaluation is introduced, the background, objective and significance of environment performance evaluation have been elaborated.2. A set of environment performance evaluation method has been established based on the relative domestic and foreign research.3. As the core part of the environment performance evaluation method, the environment performance indicators system framework, which combined the requirements of ISO14301:1999 and ISO14001:2004, has been established.4. A case study on environment performance evaluation of a air conditioner manufacturing company is presented, within which the feasibility of the environment performance evaluation method has been tested and some suggestions which can continually improves the evaluation process are proposed.
