Objective: To investigate the distribution and extent of apocrine sweat gland in tragomaschlia, and to adopt eligible surgical treatment according to the investigation.Method: Axil skin biopsy were taken and the position of apocrine sweat gland and its relationship with other skin tissue were observed under microscope. We retrospectively reviewed 100 patients who underwent two procedures for bilateral axillary osmidrosis between september of 2006 and october 2009.these procedures included Swelling anesthesia, absorption underpressure and trimming with scissors and tumescent aspiration. The results and complictions were compared after the follow-up. And then eligible surgical treatment were adopted to treat tragomaschlia.Result: The distribution of apocrine sweat gland is similar to that of hair follicle in the skin of tragomaschlia, mainly localizing in the reticular layer of dermis. Efficiency of procedures of Swelling anesthesia, absorption underpressure and trimming with scissors were higher than tumescent aspiration, while the rate of complications had no significance in the two procedures. Conclusion: The distribution of apocrine sweat gland is similar to that of hair follicle in the skin of tragomaschlia. Better procedure should developed for the different case in the treatment of axillary osmidrosis. Swelling anesthesia, absorption underpressure and trimming with scissors is a effective method for the treatment of tragomaschlia.
