Modified Ephedra Decoction Treatment Of Children With Allergic Rhinitis Clinical Efficacy Observed

Allergic Rhinitis (AR) is a chronic inflammatory disease that is caused by atopy individual contact ing al lergen by IgE in nasal mucosa wi th mediators of inflammation (major histamine) and many kinds of immune competent cell and cytokine. Its major symptoms are snivel, sternutation, nasal obstruction and swollen nasal mucosa. This disease can lead to or be complicated with Conjunctivitis, nasosinusitis, tympanitis and asthma. It has a strong impact on quality of life of children. Acording to statistics in Previous literature, AR morbidity of children reached 30.7%-33.7%, it is the most common and refractory disease in pediatrics。However, This disease could easily lead to misdiagnosis or missed diagnosis.This, thesis has probed into the recognition and mechanism of AR in TCM from two different perspectives of theoretical studies and clinical research.1. Literature review:The dissertation is from three aspects. The first is to elaborate relative discussions about children's AR in ancient TCM literature The second is mainly about recognitions about children's AR in paediatric studies in modern Chinese medieines. The third is mainly about discussions of western medicines in the disease.2. Clinical researchObjective:Observe the clinical efficacy of modified ephedra decoction curing AR in children by Professor Xu Rongqian; Probe into the locus and syndromes of AR in Chinese medicine; further discuss AR pathogenesis, treatment rules and therapies.Method:With the cross sectional study methods and taking Clinical materials of 45 children's AR in Dongzhimen Hospital Affiliated to Beijing Chinese Medicine University as evidences, this Thesis observed clinical efficacy and syndromes of modified ephedra decoction curing AR in children.Result:1. modified ephedra decoction can obviously relieve the symptoms of snivel, sternutation, nasal obstruction, rhinocnesmus and other symptoms of AR. The difference before and after treatment is significant (p<0.1).2. modified ephedra decoction has certain curative effete on allergic rhinitis, After 3 weeks of treatment, the total effective rate was 91.1%.Conclusion:1. modified ephedra decoction can obviously relieve the symptoms of AR., it has certain curative effete on allergic rhinitis.2. modified ephedra decoction is mainly opt to cure the simultaneous occurrence of cold and heat in AR.3. AR should take unbloekingtheorifiees, as the therapy prineiple.
