Hemiplegia, a main symptom of stroke, severely handicaps patients's life and work. It generally goes though two steps: achalasia and spasticity. Spasticity holds back the rehabilitation of the motor function continuously. Traditional therapy of the hemiplegia mainly focuses on the muscle strength, which intensified the combined movement, aggravated the spasticity and retarded rehabilitation. Traditional Chinese Medicine has achieved lots of effective method on Hemiplegia but it has not formed systemic pathology cognition and has been lack of standardized study based on modern rehabilitation. To seek for effective way to control spasticity, this research uses Chinese Mdicine method"skin needles"and refers on modern rehabilitation theory.1 Topic: Skin needles treat on spasticiy of hemiplegia after stroke.2 Purpose: In order to study the effect of combined therapy of Chinese medicine and modern rehabilitation on spasticity of hemiplegia after stroke.3 Method: 30 cases of ischemic or haemorrhage stoke are selected, whose Brunnsrom scales belong to Ⅱ~Ⅴ. They are randomly breaked into research group and controll group. 20 patients of the research group use combinated therapy of skin needles and Physical Therapy. 10 patients of the controll group are treated by pure Physical Ttherapy. Ashworth scale, simplified Fugl-Meyer Motor Scale and Barthel's ADL index scale are adopted as criterium for assessment of assessment of therapeutic effect.4 Result: (1)Both the Ashworth of the two groups afterward differ significantly from the former. It proves that both the skin needle and physical therapy are effective to restrict the spasticity.(2)There is a significant different between the Ashworth evaluations of the research group and control group after the treatment. It proves that the combined method is better than pure Physical Therapy. (3)Both of the tow group's ADL evaluations after the treatment significantly differ from the former. Both the two groups get better capability to handle with life rutines. (4)Between the two groups there is no difference in ADL evaluations. So we can not judge which one is more effective.(5)It is a pity that both thetwo groups' Fugl-Meyer do not get any significant change from the before. Then it does not prove that either the skin needle or physical therapy can improve the motor function.5 Conclusion: Both the combination therapy of skin needles and physical therapy and the pure Physical Therapy are effective to restrict the spasticity and the former is more effective. Both the two therapies can improve the capability of everyday life. No signal suggests which therapy is more effective. It may be caused by not including the 0peration Therapy. The result that none of the two therapies can improve the movement capability perhaps has something to do with the design of this research, for example the duration of the disease is too long. |
