"Relation between Formula and Syndrome" is one of important concepts inSyndrome Differentiation and Formulaology in TCM. Efficiency of formulae is not onlyrelated with compatibility of formulae and herbs, but also with the person who aretaking the medicine. There is combination between the efficiency of formulae andthe syndromes them treat, that is to say, the efficiency of formulae are determinedby the matching between the combination of formulae and herbs and the pathogenesisof illness and syndromes that them treat in great extent. Although "Relation betweenFormula and Syndrome" are gradually thought highly by the academic circles, butup to now , there is no experiment related to prove it. This topic adopts rat provoked by the rats which tails are clamped as the modelwith Liver-Qi Stagnation Syndrome, choose Sini San compounds (Sini San, Xiaoyao San,Chaihushugan San and the Chaishaocao fang), from the aspect ofnervous-endocrine-immune network, to find the different pharmacological actions,get some possible regularities between the formulae and syndrome on this basis andprovide proof for Relation between Formula and Syndrome by studying compounds. The thesis contains the documents research and the experiment. The clinical andexperimental research of Sini San compounds, and the researches on Liver-QiStagnation Syndrome are summarized in the document part. Modern biological mechanismof Liver-Qi Stagnation Symdrome model is studied, and on this basis, the differenteffects of SiniSan Compounds are investigated in the experimental part. Experiment 1: Exploration on endocrine condition of animal with Liver-QiStagnation Syndrome Methods: the rats are divided into control, model two groups randomly,10 ratsevery group. The behavior and appearance of the rats are observed and the ACTH contentchange in the serum of 2 groups of rats are tested after being provoked. Results:the serum ACTH level improved significantly after being provoked. After three weeks,the behavior and appearance similar to Liver-Qi Stagnation Syndrome are observed.Conclusion: Indeed, there is change in endocrine systems in the rats with Liver-QiStagnation Syndrome. So we believed that in the current study of Liver-Qi StagnationSyndrome, the model might be the comparative ideal Liver-Qi Stagnation Syndromemodel embodying the complicated pathogenesis which is feasible to be explored. Experiment 2: Effects of Sini San Compounds on nervous-endocrine-immune network Methods: the rats are divided into control , model, CSC, CHSGS,XYS,SNS sixgroups randomly,10 rats every group. The CSC, CHSGS,XYS,SNS groups are administratedorally with 0.5g/kg, ten times adult dosage , bid, model group equivalent saline,they are administrated 7 days continuously. The changes of behaviors, emotionalresponses and appearances of the rats are semiquantitatively observed, monoaminegenre neurotransmitter and its metabolite contents in hippocampus, CRF inhypothalamus, ACTH , VIP, SS in plasma and IL-1β, IL-2, IL-6, TNF-α, CORT, GAS,MTL in serum of rats the rats of every group are determined. Results: compared with control group, the IL-1β and CORT in rats' serumimproved significantly CRF in hypothalamus , GAS, MTL content in serum are decreasedsignificantly in model group; NE, 5-HT,5-HIAA,DOPAC content in hippocampus , VIP,SS, ACTH content in plasma, TNF-α content in serum have tendency to increase andIL-2 和 IL-6 contents in the rats' serum in model group has tendency to decrease. Compared with model group, the IL-1β and CORT decreased significantly and MTLincreased significantly in rats'serum in CSC group, NE content in hippocampus,ACTH in plasma , IL-2 in serum have tendency to increase ,and 5-HT, 5-HIAA inhippocampus, TNF-α in serum have the tendency to decrease, CSC had no significanteffect on DOPAC in hippocampus , CRF in hypothalamus, VIP, SS contents in plasma,IL-6, GAS contents in serum of the rats with Liver-Qi Stagnation Syndrome.
