Gout No.1 Treatment Of Acute Gouty Arthritis (hot And Humid Blockage) Clinical Studies

Gout is a clinical syndrome cased by increased production or reduced urinary excretion of uric acid(and hypoxanthine and xanthine),which is characterized by hyperuicemia,acute rheumatic disorder (characterized by a limited range of manifestations)deposition of crystals of monosodium urate, and chronic tophaceous gouty arthritis.It belongs to the category in TCM "Tongfeng" , "Bi-syndrome" , "Lijie" ,and "jiaoqi" .According to the TCM theory, the basic mechanism of gouty arthritis is the combination of blood stasis and damp-heat. The capital principle, on the basis of which the formula "TongfengIhao" is made, is to clear away the damp-heat.OBJECTIVETo invstigate the therapeutic effect and adverse reaction of Tongfeng I hao in treatment of acute gouty arthritis.METHODIt was a random,no blind research. 60 patients with acute gouty arthritis were divided into two groups at random; 30 in test group and the other 30 in controlled group .The test group was treated with Tongfeng I hao, 1 does,per os, 3 times a day for 2 weeks.The controlled group was treated Tongfengding capsule 4 capsules,per os,3 times a day for 2 weeks. Indexes including blood-rt, urine-rt, stool-rt, hepatic function and renal function were tested before and after 2-week treatment. Then the result of indexes were compared between 2 groups, the main clinical symptoms and physical signs were observed and recorded per 1 week during the period of therapy as well.RESULT1 The total effective rate of Tongfeng I hao group and Tongfengding capsule was 86.67% and 76.67% respectively after 2 weeks treatment. There were statistically significant differences between 2 groups (p<0. 05). The therapeutic effect of Tongfeng I hao group surpasses that of Tongfengding capsule group.
