| Erdothelial Dysfunction (ED) is characterized by a shift of the actions of the endoth(?)ium toward reduced vasodilation, a proinflammatory state, and prothrombic properties. Endothelial cell is not only an important functional interface, but also secrete vasoactive peptides that regulate the function of vessels. ED results from the imbalance of vasodilators and vasoconstrictors , anticoagulant factors and procoagulant factors, related mediums that regulate and direct the inflammatory process. It is associated with most forms of cardiovascular disease and act as an independent risk factor. Lifestyle modification and dietary modifications can reverse ED. Statins, ACEI and ARB are proved to be efficiency for ED. The efficiency of other treatments such as antioxidant and hormone are still uncertain. The Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM ) hold an understanding of ED by two theories, Collateral Disease and Blood Stasis Syndrome. It is regarded that Collateral Disease and ED have the same pathophysiological foundation, while the basic change of Blood Stasis Syndrome may have close correlation with the impairment of endothelium cell. There are numerous progresses in the TCM treatments studying of ED, especially in molecular biology, the study of gene, neuroendocrine, cellular signal, transduction and inflammatory medium. The medicine which base on the theory of Collateral Disease and Blood Stasis Syndrome have taken efficiency in clinic work. The reasons mentioned above provided a few powerful evidences for the application of Chinese medicine. Due to non-definite tropism of target of Chinese herbs, it is very difficult to study. The request to the studies of Chinese herbs is relatively high, while the present studies less involved in the studies of multiple sights and layers. These... |
