A Clinical Research, The Hole Point Of Moxibustion Plus Local Surrounding Needle Treatment Of Herpes Zoster Neuralgia

Objective: To observe therapeutic effects of routine needling combined with direct moxibustion on Ashi points treatment on post-herpes neuralgia (PHN) and discuss the mechanism.Methods: 66 cases from the acupuncture clinic and dermatologic clinic of Sichuan Provincial TCM hospital and Shanxi combined TCM and Western hospital were studied, according to Evidence-Based Medicine, Principle of Good Clinical Practice in Clinical Research and Diagnostic Criteria of PHN from Dermatovenereology of Integrated Western and Traditional Chinese Medicine. All cases were randomly divided into control group treated by encircled needling and treatment group treated by encircled needling and direct moxibustion on Ashi points. The patients were treated every day, ten times as a course, and two courses altogether. The therapeutic effects were evaluated by VAS, SF-MPQ and QS. The researchers of the devising, practicing, observing and statistics were blind to each other during the experiment.Results: The total effective rate of treatment group was 100%, and cure rate, 50%. The effect of encircled needling and direct moxibustion on Ashi points to treat PHN was obvious. The total effective rate of control group was 87.1%, and cure rate, 19.4%. After treatment, the pain, insomnia and emotion all took a significant better turn in treatment group, exerting efficacy difference between the two groups (P<0.05).Conclusions: Encircled needling and direct moxibustion on Ashi points method hasan obvious therapeutic effect on PHN.
