Objective : The thesis aims to discuss the clinical effectiveness of treating post-herpetic neuralgia by means of local encircled needling and the combination of Jiaji Therapy and Needling with electric acupuncture.Method: The thesis divides twenty-nine cases of patients with post-herpetic neuralgia into treatment group with 15 cases (Group A) and control group with 15 cases (Group B) at random. Group A adopts the method of applying local encircled needling and electric needling to aching area, and the combination of Jiaji Therapy and Needling with electric acupuncture to corresponding aching periods with ten days as a period of treatment. Patients in Group B take 100mg. qdpo oral carbamazepine with ten days as a period of treatment. Both groups conduct contrasted analysis by means of Visual Analogue Scale (VAS), WRS, SDS.Result: After three periods of treatment, the general effective rate of Group A is 93.3% while that of Group B is 80.0%. the recovery and excellence rate of group A is 86.7%, the recovery and excellence rate of group B is 53.3%.There exists a marked different in the recovery and excellence rate between the two groups (p< 0.05) .The declining range of the evaluation of symptoms in Group A is significant while the clinical improvements are relatively good.Conclusion: Treating post-herpetic neuralgia by means of local encircled needling and the combination of Jiaji Therapy and Needling with electric acupuncture can effectively alleviate the pains of patients. Also the method can improve the quality of life in terms of bettering metal symptoms resulting from PHN. Therefore, the feasibility, safety, effectiveness and applicability can be confirmed with the advantage of easy performing for clinical applicability.
