Thunderbolt Moxibustion And The Eye Point Massage To The Treatment Of Aqueous Tear Deficiency Dry Eye Clinical Research

Objective:To observe the function of moxibustion with thunder-fire herbal moga stick and massage acupoints around eyes in the treatment on xerophthalmia of oligodacrya,and to find the way to promote clinical therapeutic effect in the treatment on xerophthalmia of oligodacrya.Methods:1.Following randomization,Seventy cases were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group.2.The observation group(n=36)were treated with moxibustion with thunder-fire herbal moxa stick and massage acupoints around eyes at Cuanzhu(BL 2),Yuyao(EX—HN 4),Tongziliao(GB 1),Taiyang(EX—HN 5),Sibai(ST 2),Jingming(BI.1)etc.and massage of acupoints and lacrimal gland around the eye.The control group(n=34)were treated with local dripping Leiran Diyanye.3.Both groups have treatments everyday,ten times is a course,to compare the results after 2 courses.4.To observe the data.There are six items evaluated before and after treatment:①Changes of the main symptoms②eyesight③tears secretion test④lacrimal membrane breaking time⑤the changes of corneal fluorescent stainin⑥the changes of whole result.Results:1.Comparing the patients' sex,age,history,main systoms,eyesight, tears secretion,lacrimal membrane breaking time and corneal fluorescent staining,there were no significant difference.(P＞0.05) 2.Comparing the patients' main systoms before and after treatment:After treatment,sensation of dryness and foreign body sensation in the eye,asthenopia and gross symptoms significantly improved(P＜0.01) in the two groups,and the observation group in the improvement of the sensation of dryness and foreign body sensation in the eye and the gross symptoms was better than the control group(P＜0.05).3.comparing the patients' eyesight before and after treatment in the two groups:the eyesight of both two groups hadn't significant difference before treatment(P＞0.05),so they could be compared together;the eyesight of both two groups hadn't significant difference after treatment(P＞0.05) 4.Comparing tears secretion and lacrimal membrane breaking time in both two groups:tears secretion of the observation group was significantly improved after treatment(P＜0.05);and after treatment,comparing both two group,tears secretion was better in the observation group than that in the control group(P＜0.05);and the improvement of lacrimal membrane breaking time in the observation group was more obvious than that in the control group(P＜0.05).5.Comparing corneal fluorescent staining:before treatment,comparing both two groups(P＞0.05),it indicated two groups' data could be compared;both two groups were significantly improved after treatment(P＞0.05).6.comparing both two groups after treatment,there was no significant difference found(P＞0.05).Conclusion:1.The sensation of dryness and foreign body sensation in the eye,asthenopia and gross symptoms of both the observation group and the control group were improved;the effect of the observation group was better than the control group in dryness and foreign body sensation in the eye and gross symptoms.2.The eyesight of both two groups were not significantly improved.3. Tears secretion in the observation group were significantly improved,the effect group was better than the control group;lacrimal membrane breaking time of both two groups were improved and the observation group was better than the control group.4.Both two therapies could protect patients' cornea,and the effect are similar in both two groups.5.It indicated that gross effect in the observation group was ignificantly improved than the control group in the treatment on xerophthalmia of oligodacrya after two courses.
