A Hospital Information System Evaluation And Improvement Of The Strategy Study

After investigating the present situation of a tier 3 general hospital in a developed city (A hospital) and the hospital information system development via reference review, expert interviews and individual detail interviews, I found the typical challenges which hospital met during the implementation of hospital information construction.Currently A hospital has already begun the second phase of the hospital information system development. The demand of HIS from hospitals increases and the function of existing HIS expands, which have made great economic and social benefits. However, there are still some barriers such as the immature HIS market, the existing policies and the hospital management affected the results and the pace of development of hospital information construction. After consulting the experts' advice, gave some recommendations to the A hospital' s HIS development and developing the evaluation standards for tier 3 general hospitals in developed China, I established an evaluation system for A hospital' s HIS estimation, and then found the management changelings and barriers which affected HIS construction. Based on the evaluation, I explored the suitable tactics and methods for A hospital' s HIS development and for the other Chinese hospitals which in east developed cities. I hope the thesis will serve for the people's medical needs and requirements eventually.
